About
Born and raised in Redondo Beach, now based in Long Beach.
Evan Brown is a singer, guitarist and songwriter who’s been playing professionally since he was twelve. Country clubs, resorts and private hosts across Southern California book him to set the mood for the night, solo, as a duo or with a full band.
Evan grew up surrounded by songs as the son of professional musician and songwriter John F. Brown, and the two still share the stage. All that time in front of a crowd shows. He knows how to read a room and carry a night with warm vocals and guitar.
Since 2016 he’s become a trusted name at upscale venues, with past residencies at Rolling Hills Country Club and California Surf Club and a steady calendar of private events, weddings and corporate gatherings.
He writes his own songs, too. ASCAP has recognized his compositions, his songs were used in The Strand: A Beach Musical (where he also starred as Kai), and his 2012 EP 220 Lincoln brought in players from Oingo Boingo and Eric Burdon & the Animals. He studied music and theater at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and you can hear the Beatles, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Jack Johnson, Bob Marley, Tom Petty and Sublime in the way he plays.
